Graphic Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS) is a two-year, full-time Master's programme with a general academic profile, run by the Faculty of Arts and taught in English. It is meant for graduates of artistic programmes – Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Painting, Art Education and similar – who want to develop both traditional printmaking and digital design skills.
The practical courses are built on the study of traditional graphic techniques, painting and drawing, combined with current digital technologies and multimedia. Teaching is done by university teachers, artists and scholars at the Institute of Fine Arts, which welcomes international students and values cultural diversity.
Over the four semesters you can learn a range of printmaking techniques – intaglio (etching, aquatint, soft ground and drypoint), relief printing (linocut), silkscreen and experimental printmaking – which is the basis of the Printmaking specialisation.
Graphic Design courses run as workshops using Adobe applications and cover digital picture editing, web design, multimedia, illustration and advertising photography.
All courses are taught in English, and admission is open to both Polish citizens and international students.
